On August 9th, 2009, team Bisimoto Engineering attended a hot, and wonderful drag race event at the Sacramento Raceway Park , in Rancho Cordova , California . This Battle of the Imports (IDRA) race had a decent turnout, with competitors in attendance from around the country. The Pro Stock class, was an interesting one, indeed. With fierce competition from well funded teams, it was a race that we had looked forward to for quite a while. With your support, some improved valvetrain components from Supertech and Portflow, and a new billet piston design from Arias giving us even more power, we were poised for some nice runs.
Our very first pass yielded a 9.67 elapsed time at 147 mph, giving us the number one spot in the initial qualifying round session. The second round of qualifying placed us in the number two position, but the run during this round gave us an amazing record. The e.t. of that round: 9.65 at 150.30mph!!
This amazing run, secured our place in the record books as the very first naturally aspirated FWD to eclipse the 150mph mark at a sanctioned event. We also backed up the runs within the common 1-2% range, giving us the following OFFICIAL accolades:

World’s first sanctioned 150mph FWD naturally aspirated pass
World’s fastest unibody FWD
World’s fastest n/a Honda
World’s fastest n/a SOHC
Sacramento Raceway Pro Stock MPH record
IDRA Pro Stock MPH record

These runs were performed in the ambient temps of over 100 degrees Fahrenheit, and the crowds went wild for the performance from their favorite team. We continued throughout the rounds with consistent 9 second passes, all at above 147.5mph. In the finals, we line up with a well funded vehicle from a multi-car rival team. With nothing but success on our mind, we unleashed all of the Bisimoto Insight’s potential…which may have proven too much, as we lost slight control of the vehicle during the run, and had to lift by mid track to prevent a mishap. We settled with a runner up position, as our competitor ran a 9.6 e.t. to our 10.22 at 114mph (still amazing for a mid track lift).
We finished off the day interacting with enthusiasts and signing autographs. It was a pleasure seeing representatives from Toyo Tires and Supertech valvetrain at this race (thanks, Hideki and Willy for the pit support).
Your support has made us on of the most loved and endeared teams in the sport. The attention, and well wishes from fans, despite our runner up position, was, and continues to be, simply amazing. Our next scheduled event is the IDRC Summer Nationals on September 5th, at the California Speedway in Fontana , Ca. Team Bisimoto Engineering looks forward to seeing many of you there, and securing a win to boot!
Sincerely,
'Bisi Ezerioha
